We invite you to come and join us for a fun-filled day at The Station.  Please remember the Great Overland Station is private property - not city property.  Therefore, we ask that you respect the property and help us keep it beautiful so we can continue to have more of these events.  For information on pickup and deliver locations for the buses, page down to the parking section.

Grounds Layout

There are parking spaces located at the east end of the grounds on Kansas Avenue. Sidewalks are available throughout the grounds with handicap access on the curbs. There are handicap restrooms inside the building. An elevator is available by the west stairway to access the exhibit room upstairs inside the Great Overland Station. Restrooms including handicap restrooms and hand washing stations will be available throughout the grounds and at the west and east end of The Station.

Parking

Volunteers will assist with the parking on the Great Overland Station parking lots.

10 Handicap parking spaces will be allocated in the parking lot close to the EAST ticket entrance. Handicap ramps are accessible.

Additional parking will be available along North Kansas Avenue, and NW Curtis Street, and on the side streets.

There will be 2 Durham school buses that will be transporting from the pickup stations at selected locations on the North side.  They will stop at the east parking lot at "The Station" to pick up and deliver.  They will begin at 9:30 am and run to 6:00 pm.  Bus rides are free!

Be sure to lock your vehicle and don't leave any valuable items inside.


 

 Zero Tolerance

Anyone who is intoxicated with alcohol or drugs at this event will not be admitted inside the gate. If inside the gate, anyone who become intoxicated with alcohol or drugs at this event will be secroted off the prperty by security. All beverages must be placed in the trash before leaving grounds. No fireworks are allowed on the grounds.


Not Permitted On Grounds

Items not allowed on the property will be weapons of any kind, scooters (except for medical reasons), no bicycles or skateboards. NO ANIMALS except service dogs only. Food, beverages, coolers or backbacks will not be permitted; food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the fenced area.


Safety

There will be an information booth for announcements, directions, first aide, and questions. We will also have AMR on site for emergency care. Security will be provided by uniformed personnel and local police and/or sheriff.


Volunteers

Signup for volunteering is still open.  Please call Trisha Smith at 785-232-5533 ext 13. 

Volunteers will check in at the west ticket gate entrance. Volunteer parking will be at the west end parking lot.  You will pick up your wristbands and t-shirt and report to your assigned location.

Once you have completed your volunteer assignment, you will check out at the same location you checked in, remove your t-shirt and enjoy the rest of the festival. If you continue to wear your t-shirt we will assume you are still working. These volunteer opportunities are available for community service hours. Ages are limited to 14 and up.

Coming from West I-70 take exit 361B to 3rd street.
Turn right on 3rd street and go to Kansas Avenue.
Turn right on Kansas Avenue and go to the middle of the Kansas Avenue Bridge.
There is a left hand turn lane where you will turn left on Curtis Flyoff.
At stop sign, turn right and then a quick left onto the Great Overland Station driveway.

From the East
Coming from East I-70 take exit 362B and go to 4rd street.
Turn left on 4th street and go to Kansas Avenue.
Turn right on Kansas Avenue and go to the middle of the Kansas Avenue Bridge.
There is a left hand turn lane where you will turn left on Curtis Flyoff.
At stop sign, turn right and then a quick left onto the Great Overland Station driveway.

Coming from North Topeka on Kansas Avenue going South
Take Kansas Avenue South to Morse.
Turn left on Morse and go to Quincy Road (this leads into Kansas Avenue Bridge).
Turn right on Quincy Road and go to the middle of the Kansas Avenue Bridge.
Stay in the right hand lane and turn right on Curtis Flyoff.
At stop sign, turn right and then a quick left onto the Great Overland Station driveway.

Coming from South Topeka on Topeka Boulevard (HWY 75) going North
Stay on Topeka Boulevard (HWY 75) and go to 1st Street.
Turn right on 1st Street and go East to Kansas Avenue (about 2 blocks).
Turn right on Kansas Avenue and go to the middle of the Kansas Avenue Bridge.
Stay in the left hand lane and turn left on Curtis Flyoff (watch for sign).
