3rd Annual Topeka Railroad Festival

Thank you for your interest in the 3^rd Annual Topeka Railroad Festival on Saturday, August 21, 2010.  The hours will be from 10:00am – 6:00pm.  Tickets are just $5 per person in advance, and children 6 & under are free.  We expect a large crowd and will need many volunteers.   Volunteers will receive orientation, free admission and a festival t-shirt with a commitment of at least 3 hours of volunteer service.

The Topeka Railroad Festival is an opportunity to celebrate Topeka’s rich railroad heritage.  The Great Overland Station strives to become a cultural focal point for Topeka with celebrations, entertainment, and education. 

-          Volunteers will be required to wear the festival t-shirt provided and a volunteer wrist band.  If you are wearing your festival t-shirt we will assume you are working; please remove your t-shirt or turn it inside out when you have completed your assignment.  Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for weather conditions. 

-          Volunteers will be required to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner.

-          Volunteers will have an opportunity to help in the area they would like to, but will be required to sign up for a specific shift(s) with a minimum commitment of 3 hours.

-          Minors who volunteer must have parental signature on the Volunteer Form.  Parents please communicate drop-off/pick-up times and location with your child, to ensure safety and avoid confusion.  Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the Festival Grounds at all times.

-          Water will be available to volunteers free of charge.  Food will not be provided for volunteers, please schedule your volunteer hours to allow time for meals, breaks, etc.
